Joel Beeke said that “Christian Fellowship was not optional for the Puritans, but an essential means of persevering and growing in grace.” The Puritan William Ames said that a church is “a society of believers joined together in a special bond for the continual exercise of the communion of the saints among themselves.” At Mount Barker Presbyterian Church, we always want to strengthen our bond!
Once a month, following the 11am service, we come together to share a delightful meal of various dishes, desserts, and fellowship. After seeing to our physical needs, together we partake in a spiritual feast: sharing in a time of psalms and hymns, as well as videos on doctrine and the history of Christianity.
Singing ‘psalms and hymns and spiritual songs‘ (Ephesians 5:19) is a wonderful aspect of corporate worship that we especially enjoy during Fellowship Sundays.
Currently, we are also watching Ask Ligonier, Answers in Genesis’ The Genesis Account Of Noah’s Ark, Christ Church’s Reformed Basics, and Epic by Tim Challies, all of which have been engaging and instructive for adults and children alike!
We’d love you to come along to join us for a fun time of food and fellowship!
